As I stood on the bridge in contemplation over Lake Acworh - in search of a subject to paint a graceful and serene crane flew overhead. He landed right next to me in the cove. I often see him here on my morning walk, but today it was especially fortuitous that I spotted him. I setup and got to work and he sat there for the next two and a half hours with me - just waiting for that perfect fish at the perfect moment. he and I both sat there contemplating the minutes as we diligently worked at our independent tasks. I really enjoyed trying to capture the cove with its brackish waters contrasting against the brilliance of his white feathers. The morning had the tall pines backlit - so there wasnt much light and the waters were still except for the stirring of tiny things and unseen things. I hope to have captured the peace and stillness of that time.
