During the 2025 Gloucester Plein Air event, I painted this scene at a boatyard on an intensely hot day, watching these men work tirelessly on the boat. The strength of the light, the color and the quiet determination of the figures stayed with me. The painting has since been juried into several exhibitions and honored with multiple awards.
