Painted early in the morning along a beautiful creek during one of my travels this summer. I was stuck by the golden light shining on this dead tree alongside the bank and the shadows on the adjoining foliage. Soon after I started a heron landed on what was obviously one of his favorite fishing spots. By the time I had finished he had caught several fish and moved on to another spot.
